Julie leads discussions at historical landmarks and the places that inspired the authors. She gives literati quintessential cultural experiences similar to the characters they read about.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES - Julie takes her readers off-the-beaten-path to bring books to life. Clients toured the top-security restoration labs of the Getty Museum in Bel-Air to discuss Jonathan Harr's The Lost Painting and had a guest grief-psychologist co-leading a discussion of Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking. Upcoming is an outing through Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, in conjunction with discussion of the new novel about the famed architect's love affair Loving Frank by Nancy Horan.

COOK THE BOOK - Being an extreme foodie and gourmet chef, Julie often arranges for her book groups to open with a bacchanal of food and drink indigenous to the book's locale. Sometimes it's at a private home, sometimes at a gourmet restaurant, but by the end of the evening, the wine bottles are sure to be empty and the readers are sure to be filled with a great meal and great insights.

BOOK WALK - As Julie is an avid walker herself, one of her new book clubs consists of a brisk three mile walk and a stimulating book discussion if you can keep up with her pace.

MOVIE SCREENINGS - When a studio has a book-adaptation movie to promote, one of the first people they contact is Julie. She hosts the director as well as the book author at special preview screenings for her readers. And as always, great food and discussions ensue.

CLASSIC LECTURE SERIES - Bringing her love of classics to a broader audience, Julie's Luncheon Lecture Series have become one of the hottest tickets in town. Julie brings in popular university professors to the Beverly Hills Country Club to talk to about 60 avid readers, who dine and discuss great literature together. English class was never this much fun. Series include The Jane Austen Book Club, War and Peace and Southern Writers.
